Overview
What it is and where it goes
Natural pozzolan is a volcanic material rich in reactive silica and alumina. Ground and blended with Portland cement, it reacts with calcium hydroxide to form additional binding compounds.
It lowers the clinker factor of cement, reduces the heat of hydration and improves the resistance of concrete to sulphate and chloride attack.
